The University of Padova began a project aimed at ISO 9001 certification of 27 research laboratories belonging to 14 departments of the University. The design of the activity, as well as the planning and implementation of the project, have been entrusted to the Environmental Quality Study Center of the University of Padova.

The project has been split into the following phases:

1. check-up in the structures involved in the project
2. basic training on ISO 9000 for all involved laboratories
3. in-depth training on the application of ISO 9001 by macro-areas (area-chemical and biological engineering)
4. 4) interventions   for the implementation of quality management systems in individual d
5. epartments.
